West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) has released the official notification on 30th May 2025 for the 2nd State Level Selection Test for the Recruitment of Assistant Teachers (Classes IX-X/ Secondary & Classes XI-XII/ Higher Secondary). Through this recruitment, WBSSC has come up with 35726 Assistant Teacher vacancies for which the registration process will be conducted online from 16th June 2025 onwards at www.westbengalssc.com.

State Level Selection Test (SLST) will be conducted for selecting candidates for Assistant Teacher posts for Government Aided/Sponsored Secondary/Higher Secondary Schools.

WBSSC SLST 2025- Important Dates

The complete schedule for conducting WBSSC SLST Exam 2025 has been released along with the official notification PDF. As mentioned, the online registration will be conducted from 16th June to 14th July 2025. The WB SLST 2025 exam will be held in the 1st week of September 2025.

WB SLST 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are willing to apply for Assistant Teachers for Secondary Classes IX & X and Higher Secondary Classes XI & XII must be aware of the education qualification required and age criteria to be fulfilled.

Education Qualification

Assistant Teachers for IX & X Classes

a) Graduation / Post Graduation completed from a recognised University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution, OR
(b) 4–year degree of B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed. from any National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution.

Assistant Teachers for XI & XII Classes

(a) Candidates must have completed their post graduation with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognised University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution; OR
(b) Candidates must have completed their post-graduation with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognised University and B.A. Ed/ B.Sc. Ed. from any NCTE recognised institution.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)

Upper age limit Relaxation

• Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates- 5 years
• Other Backwards Classes candidates- 3 years
• Physically Handicapped Candidates- 8 years
