UP GIC Lecturer Recruitment 2025

UP GIC Lecturer Vacancy 2025

This UP GIC Lecturer Recruitment 2025 drive aims to fill Lecturer vacancies in Government Inter Colleges (GICs) across Uttar Pradesh. The total number of vacancies is expected to be around 1658, out of which 836 vacancies are for women and 822 vacancies are for men. UP GIC Lecturer Eligibility Criteria 2025 Revised

The Uttar Pradesh Government has changed the rules for lecturer recruitment. As per the new guidelines, the Revised UP GIC Lecturer Eligibility criteria have been detailed below.

• B.Ed. Exemption: A B.Ed. degree is no longer compulsory for certain subjects, specifically: Home Science (Female), Sewing (Female), Arts (Male), Commerce (Male), and Military Science (Male).
• Removed Subjects: Geology (Male) and Engineering (Male) are no longer included for recruitment.
• History Subject Clarification: Postgraduate degrees in Ancient History, Medieval History, and Modern History are now explicitly valid for the History lecturer posts.
• No “Equivalence” Clause: The previous “equivalence” rule, which could cause delays, has been removed. Degree names are now explicitly stated to avoid ambiguity.
• Mandatory B.Ed.: A B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE is now mandatory for all other lecturer positions (excluding the exempted subjects), without any minimum marks requirement.

Educational Qualification

The specific subject-wise eligibility criteria, along with the requirement for a B.Ed. degree (where applicable), are as follows:

• Sociology, Geography, Economics, Civics, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Psychology, English, Urdu, Sanskrit, Persian, Philosophy, Music: Require a postgraduate degree in the relevant subject from a recognized university and a B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE.
• History: Requires a postgraduate degree in Ancient History, Medieval History, or Modern History from a recognized university and a B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE.
• Biology: Requires a postgraduate degree in Botany or Zoology from a recognized university and a B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE.
• Education: Requires a postgraduate degree in Psychology or Education with an LT Diploma, OR a Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Education from a recognized university.
• Hindi: Requires a postgraduate degree in Hindi, a Bachelor of Arts with Sanskrit, and a B.Ed. degree recognized by NCTE.
• Physical Education: Requires a graduation degree from a recognized university and an M.P.Ed. in Physical Education.
• Home Science: Requires a postgraduate degree in Home Science or a B.Sc. in Home Science from a recognized university.
• Drawing and Painting: Requires a postgraduate degree in Drawing and Painting from a recognized university.
• Commerce: Requires a postgraduate degree in Commerce.

Age Limit

The candidates who will be applying for the UP GIC Recruitment 2025 must have a minimum age of 21 years and a maximum age of 40 years. The age relaxation for the reserved categories will also be provided by the Uttar Pradesh Staff Selection Commission as per the Government Norms.
