SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2025

The official SSC JE Notification 2025 PDF for the SSC JE Exam 2025, released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), outlines the specific requirements for candidates aspiring to apply online for the SSC JE Exam. To be eligible to apply for 1340 vacancies for Junior Engineers at various positions for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India through SSC JE 2025 in the SSC department, candidates have to meet some prerequisites such as age limit, educational qualifications, nationality, etc. If the candidate fails to meet any of the eligibility, his/her application will be disqualified by the authority.

SSC JE Age Limit 2025

SSC has set certain age limits for the candidates to appear for the SSC JE 2025 Exam. Candidates need proper age proof for applying; false or misleading information will lead to disqualification. The age limit is up to 32 years for JE (E) and JE (C) of the Central Public Works Department. For the rest of the organization and the position of JE, the age limit is up to 30 years. SSC JE Age Relaxation 2025

In addition, individuals who fall under specific groups like SC/ST, OBC, etc. are granted exceptional age relaxations beyond the upper age limit by the exam-holding authority. The age relaxations for each category of people are shown in the table below.

SSC JE Education Qualification 2025

Candidates need specific education qualifications to apply for the SSC JE Exam 2025. The education requirement of the applicant varies from organization to position. Candidates will have to provide the original certificates at the time of document verification. The degrees should be certified by any recognized university.

The programmes in engineering, medicine, dental, nursing, pharmacy, architecture and physiotherapy etc. are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode. Only B.Tech. degree/ diploma in Engineering awarded by IGNOU to the students, who were enrolled up to academic year 2009-10, shall be treated as valid, wherever applicable. SSC JE Nationality 2025

Candidate must have the required nationality to be eligible for the SSC JE Exam 2025. They must provide the document which provides the proof of nationality. Candidates must come from one of the following nationalities to take the exam.

  • a resident of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam to permanently set in India.
