For the first time, SSC is providing candidates the opportunity to select their own exam city, date, and shift. This candidate-friendly initiative aims to offer greater convenience and flexibility in scheduling the exam. The exam is scheduled to commence from 12th November 2025 onwards, and in a candidate-friendly move, SSC is introducing a new self-slot selection facility for examinees. Candidates can select their own exam city, date, and shift from 22nd to 28th October 2025 by visiting the official website www.ssc.gov.in.

Candidates have to log into the SSC candidate portal to choose their preferred exam city, date, and shift based on the three cities they had initially selected during the application process. This initiative reflects SSC’s commitment to enhancing the examination experience and easing the process for lakhs of aspirants appearing in CHSLE 2025. How to Choose SSC CHSL Exam City, Date, and Slot?
- Open the official website www.ssc.gov.in and login using your registration number and password.
- Once logged in, candidates will see the availability of slots for their chosen cities and can pick any open date and shift accordingly.
- If slots in all three chosen cities are filled, candidates will be offered additional cities to select from where seats are still available.
- In such cases, the commission will assign exam dates and shifts on a best-effort basis, without providing further options.
However, for those opting for regional language exams, the available choices for dates and shifts may be somewhat limited.
Note: SSC has emphasised the importance of carefully selecting the exam date, city, and shift because no changes will be entertained once choices are submitted. This measure ensures the smooth organisation of the examination logistics.
