SSC CGL Shift Timings 2025

The SSC CGL examination is conducted in two phases: Tier 1 and Tier 2. The Computer-Based Tests (CBT) for Tier 1 and Tier 2 is held in multiple shifts in a day to accommodate the large number of candidates across the country. SSC CGL Shift Timings 2025: Reporting and Gate Closing Time

Candidates must report to the exam centre well in advance to complete the entry formalities like identity verification, biometric attendance, and frisking.

Reporting time is 45–60 minutes before the start of the shift.

• Reporting Time for Shift 1 is 7:30 am
• Reporting Time for Shift 1 is 11 am
• Reporting Time for Shift 3 is 2:30 pm

Gate closing time is usually 15–30 minutes before the scheduled start of the exam.

• Gate Closing Time for Shift 1 is 8:30 am

Guidelines to be followed for SSC CGL Exam Day

Admit Card and Identification

1. Carry a printed copy of your SSC CGL admit card to the examination centre.
2. Bring a valid photo ID proof (such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Passport, Voter ID, Driving Licence).
3. Keep two recent passport-size photographs for verification, if required.

Reporting and Entry Rules

1. Reach the centre at least 45–60 minutes before the reporting time mentioned on the admit card.
2. Late entry after the gate closing time is strictly prohibited.
3. Biometric verification, frisking, and document checks will be conducted before entry.

Prohibited Items

1. Do not carry mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, earphones, or any electronic gadgets.
2. Avoid bringing study material, books, or written notes inside the hall.
3. Bags, wallets, and personal belongings are usually not allowed inside the exam room.

Dress Code Recommendations

1. Wear light and comfortable clothes without metallic accessories.
2. Shoes with thick soles, jewellery, or heavy ornaments are discouraged, as they may delay security checks.

During the Examination

1. Read the instructions on the computer screen carefully before starting the test.
2. Use the rough sheet provided by the invigilator; do not write anything on your admit card or desk.
3. Maintain silence inside the hall and follow the invigilator’s directions.
4. Any form of malpractice, like copying or talking, can lead to disqualification.

Post-Exam Formalities

1. Submit the rough sheets and ensure your biometric attendance is recorded before leaving.
2. Do not leave the exam hall without the invigilator’s permission.
