RPF Recruitment to Be Conducted by SSC says Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has officially announced that the Railway Protection Force Examination (RPF) will now be conducted annually by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) instead of the Railway Recruitment Board. This decision aims to bring greater transparency, efficiency, and uniformity to the selection process for RPF constables and sub-inspectors posts.

RPF Recruitment to Be Conducted by SSC

During the 41st Raising Day of the RPF at Valsad in Gujarat, the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said that the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Railway Protection Force Examination (RPF) annually for the recruitment of Sub Inspector (Exe.) and Constable (Exe.) in RPF/RPSF.

By handing over the recruitment process to the SSC, the government aims to ensure a fair and standardized examination system, similar to other central government recruitments. The minister emphasized that this decision will help streamline procedures, reduce administrative delays, and maintain a merit-based selection process.

RPF Recruitment 2025- Exam Conducting Body

Until now, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has conducted RPF exams. From 2025 onwards, this responsibility to conduct the RPF Recruitment has been shifted to the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). The selection process for the RPF exam includes the Computer-Based Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test, and Document Verification

RPF Recruitment 2025- Major Changes

  • The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the entire RPF recruitment process instead of the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB).
  • RPF Recruitment will now be conducted every year, ensuring regular job opportunities.
  • With SSC’s organized system, exam notifications, results, and appointments are projected to be quicker and more transparent.
  • The recruitment process and examinations will now be managed online within SSC’s official website.
