The significance of the important days in January 2025 are as follows-

Global Family Day- 1st January

Every year 1st January is celebrated as Global Family Day. Global Family Day starts with the beginning of the new year with a positive message of unity to the world. Cultures and religions across the world may be diverse but, the truth is that all of mankind is a large family that can survive and succeed only if united.

World Braille Day- 4th January

World Braille Day is celebrated on the 4th of January, this day commemorates the birthday of French educator Louis Braille. The objective of the day is to serve as a symbol of honour for the Braille system that has helped to educate the visually impaired for several decades. 

World War Orphans Day- 6th January

Internationally every year on January 6 World Day of War Orphans is observed. The objective of this special day is to make people aware of the problems that war orphans and children in conflict experience. Orphaned children are habitually subjected to emotional and social prejudice.

African National Congress Foundation Day- 8th January

On 8 January in the year 1912, the African National Congress was founded and its primary goal was to bring all Africans together as one people and also to defend their rights and freedoms.

World Hindi Day- 10th January

World Hindi Day is also referred to as Vishwa Hindi Divas. Every year this day is celebrated across the world on 10th January. This day signifies the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference which was organized on January 10 in the year 1975, in Nagpur.

National Milk day- 11th January

National Milk Day is observed on January 11th which is celebrated for the reason to mark the day when the first milk deliveries in glass bottles had begun in the United States. Alexander Campbell of the New York Dairy Company declared that his company was the first company who made this delivery in 1878.

National Youth Day- 12th January

The 12th of January every year is observed to commemorate Swami Vivekananda’s birthday. He was born on 12th January in the year 1863 in Kolkata. He was a great philosopher, activist, social reformer, and thinker. He was a follower of Ramakrishna, he founded the Ramakrishna Mission in 1897.

Makar Sankranti- 14th January

Makar Sankranti is a propitious day when the sun enters the zodiac sign Capricorn (makar rekha) which signifies the end of winter and the beginning of warmer months and longer days. Also this day marks the onset of spring season which symbolises new blossoms and harvest. It is also called as Uttarayan as from this day onwards the sun begins its journey to the north which is known as Uttarayan journey. 

Parakram Diwas- 23rd January

Every year 23rd of January is celebrated as Parakram Divas to pay respect, honour, tribute, celebrate and remember Netaji’s courageous spirit, devotion, commitment, and selfless service to this nation. The government of India celebrate this day to inspire citizens, especially the youth, to act with fortitude in the face of adversity, just like Netaji.

Republic Day of India- 26th January

Our Constitution of India was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into force on 26 January 1950. 26 January is often chosen as Republic Day as it was on that day in 1930 when the Declaration of Indian Independence was proclaimed by the Indian National Congress.
