To get selected as a Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA), candidates must have a clear understanding of the selection process. As, candidates will have to go through the three stages: Written Test, Skill Test, followed by an Interview. The written exam consists of four subjects: GK, English, Maths, and Assamese. Gauhati High Court JAA Selection Process 2025

The selection process for the Junior Administrative Assistant Exam consists of three stages:

  • Stage 1: Common Written Test
  • Stage 2: Computer Skill Test
  • Stage 3: Viva-Voce

The final selection will be made based on a total of 150 marks, which includes 100 marks from the Written Test (excluding the Assamese section), 35 marks from the Computer Skill Test, and 15 marks from the Viva-Voce.

The exam pattern for the Junior Administrative Assistant (JAA) is as follows:

Written Test

  • There will be a total of 120 Questions
  • Each question carries 1 mark
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer
  • Candidates must score 8 marks out of 20 in the Assamese language Test to qualify language section.

Candidates in the ratio of 1:5 (5 times the number of posts in a district) from the rank-wise written test merit list will move to Stage 2.

Computer Skill Test

  • Typing Test (20 Marks) will be conducted using typing application software
  • Proficiency Test (15 Marks) on word processing and spreadsheet software will be held.

Candidates in the ratio of 1:3 (3 times the number of posts in a district) from the combined marks of Stage 1 and Stage 2 will be called for the next stage. After clearing this stage, an Interview of 20 marks will be conducted.
