Bihar Police SI Vacancy 2025 Out
After constables, now there is going to be a bumper recruitment of sub-inspectors in Bihar Police. The news has been circulated through newspaper and the official announcement with registration dates and eligibility requirement will be shortly uploaded. As of now, just the number of vacancies are informed, 1799 Sub Inspector posts will be filled.

The recruitment process will consist of four stages: Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, Physical Test, and Interview. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks secured in the Main Written Examination and the Interview, while qualifying the Physical Test will be compulsory.

Bihar SI Vacancy 2025: Eligibility
Educational Qualification- Candidates must have completed Bachelor’s degree (graduation) from a recognized university to be eligible to apply for SI posts in Bihar state.
Age Limit- The minimum age of the candidates should be 20 years and maximum age should be 37 years. Age relaxation for the female category, and SC, ST, and OBC categories will be provided as per govt rules. Category-wise age limit is tabulated below in the table.

Bihar Police SI Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
- The Bihar Police SI Prelims written exam will consist of objective multiple-choice questions.
- Each question carries 02 marks and there will be a negative marking of 0.2 Marks for each wrong answer.
- The minimum qualifying marks for prelims are 30% marks i.e., 60 marks.
- The time duration for the Bihar Police SI prelims exam is 2 hours (120 Minutes).

Bihar Police SI Mains Exam Pattern 2025
- The Bihar Police SI Mains Written exam will consist of 2 papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- The General Hindi is qualifying in nature, To qualify in the Paper 1 exam candidates are required to score 30% marks.
- 02 marks will be provided for each correct answer and there will be a negative marking of 0.2 Marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- The duration of each paper is 02 hours.

Bihar Police SI Physical Exam Details
Candidates who have been shortlisted after the mains examination, need to perform the activities involved in the physical efficiency test. Male candidates need to cover a distance of a minimum of 4 feet in 3 attempts and female candidates need to cover a minimum distance of 3 feet in 3 attempts for the high jump. The Physical test is qualifying in nature.

Bihar Police SI Salary 2025
The Bihar Police Sub-Inspector (SI) holds an important position in maintaining law and order in the state. The post not only offers respect and responsibility but also provides a decent salary along with several perks. The annual pay scale of a Bihar Police SI is between ₹4,24,800 and ₹13,48,800, excluding additional allowances.
As per the 6th Pay Commission, the basic monthly salary begins at ₹35,400. On top of this, officers are entitled to several allowances, such as:
- Dearness Allowance (DA): Around ₹4,248
- House Rent Allowance (HRA): Between ₹2,124 and ₹5,664, based on the posting location
- Travel Allowance (TA): ₹600 to ₹1,500
