The Bar Council of India Trust, the conducting body for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE), has released AIBE 20 Notification 2025. The registration for AIBE 20 will commence on 29th September 2025 and will remain open until 28th October 2025. Candidates must complete the payment through online mode by 29th October 2025, and any necessary corrections in the registration form can be made until 31st October 2025.

AIBE 20 Exam Date 2025 Out

The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a mandatory examination for law graduates in India who want to practice as advocates. AIBE 20 examination is scheduled to be held on 30th November 2025, and the admit cards for the exam will be available from 15th November 2025 onwards. The passing percentage is as follows:

AIBE 20 Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates can check the eligibility criteria for AIBE 20 examination:

1. Educational Qualification

• Candidates must have passed or are in the final year of 3-year LL.B or 5-year integrated LL.B degree.
• A recognised law degree from a BCI-approved institution is required.

2. Minimum Marks Requirement

• No minimum marks required to appear for AIBE.
• However, universities may prescribe minimum grades for further legal education (LL.M., etc.).

3. Age Limit

• There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in the AIBE exam.

4. State Bar Council Enrollment

• State Bar Council registration is no longer mandatory to appear in AIBE.
• Candidates can apply even if not enrolled with a State Bar Council.

AIBE Eligibility Exemptions

• Law graduates who passed LL.B. before the academic year 2009–2010 are exempted from AIBE.
• Those who graduated in 2008 or earlier (even if enrolled later) do not need to appear for AIBE.
• Candidates graduating from 2009–10 onwards must appear and pass the AIBE to practice law.

Number of Attempts

• Unlimited attempts are allowed until the candidate qualifies.
• However, candidates must pass AIBE within two years of provisional enrollment with the State Bar Council.
• If the 2-year period expires without qualifying, the candidate must re-enroll to appear again.

Registration Process for All India Bar Examination 20 Examination

Candidates can register for the AIBE 20 by following these simple steps:

Registration Form: All candidates will use the registration link, which will be activated on 29th September 2025, on the official website of BCI.

Ensure your eligibility based on one of the following categories:

a) Final Year, Final Semester Students with

• No backlogs
• Final semester exams pending
• Studying in a BCI-recognised institution

b) Candidates Awaiting Final Results

• Exams completed, no backlogs
• Awaiting results
• Studied at a BCI-recognised institution

c) Law Graduates Without Enrollment

• Degree obtained/pending (strike off whichever is not applicable)
• Not enrolled with State Bar Council
• Studied at a BCI-recognised institution

d) Law Graduates Employed Without Enrollment

• Currently employed and not enrolled or have surrendered enrollment
• If passed AIBE, eligible for enrollment for 6 months (must resign to continue)
• Studied at a BCI-recognised institution

2. Undertaking Submission:

Required for:

• Final semester students with no backlogs
• Law graduates without degree/enrollment
• Employed law graduates who surrendered enrollment

Steps:

• Download the form from AIBE website or last page of the application
• Upload a scanned copy (not a mobile photo) after signing
• Enrolled candidates must upload self-attested enrollment certificate (not the undertaking)

3. Document Submission (LL.B. Marksheets):

a) Final Semester Students:

• Submit self-attested scanned marksheets (not photos):
• 3-year LL.B: Semester I to V
• 5-year LL.B: Semester I to IX

b) Law Graduates Without Degree:

• Submit self-attested scanned marksheets:
• 3-year LL.B: Semester I to VI
• 5-year LL.B: Semester I to X
