The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued the notification for RRB Group D 2025 and announced a total of 32,438 job openings for various RRB Group D Level 1 posts. The registration process is ongoing at https://www.rrbapply.gov.in/ and the last date for form submission is 23rd February 2025. Candidates interested in the released RRB Group D Posts must check the positions for which recruitment is released and their respective job responsibilities.

RRB Group D Posts & Job Profile

The posts released through RRB Group D Recruitment 2025 are of Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Pointsman-B, Helper/Assistant in various technical fields (Electrical, Mechanical), Assistant Pointsman, and other posts. The below table depicts the post-wise vacancies announced and their job responsibilities. Maximum vacancies are released for Track Maintainer Grade IV and Pointsman-B posts.

Posts/Vacancies Job Profile & Responsibilities
Pointsman-B (5058 vacancies) Operates track switches that direct trains to their correct tracks, ensuring trains move freely and safely.
Assistant (Track Machine) (799 vacancies) In charge of laying and repairing tracks keeping them in good condition for efficient maintenance of the tracks.
Assistant (Bridge) (301 vacancies) Responsible for checking on railway bridges for routine maintenance to ensure their structural integrity and safety.
Track Maintainer Grade IV (13187 vacancies) Inspect, maintain, and repair railway tracks, ensuring the tracks are free from any damage and properly aligned for safe train travel.
Assistant Permanent-Way (247 Vacancies) They are responsible for the maintenance and safety of the tracks, bridges, and level crossings. They also ensure that all work is done in compliance with the relevant rules and procedures.
Assistant C&W (2587 Vacancies) Maintaining and repairing railway carriages and wagons, including passenger coaches and freight wagons, and sees that they are safe for service.
Assistant TRD (1381 Vacancies) Maintains the electrical systems using such training as overhead electrification and transformers to keep the trains running smoothly.
Assistant S&T (2012 vacancies) Install, operate, and maintain signalling and communication systems.
Assistant in Loco Shed – Diesel (420 Vacancies) Maintenance and servicing of diesel locomotives, ensuring that their engines, fuel systems, and various components are in mint condition.
Assistant in Loco Shed – Electrical (503 vacancies) Inspect, and repair electrical components in electric locomotives to ensure that they are fit for service.
Assistant Operations – Electrical (744 vacancies) Responsible for the operations and maintenance of electrical components and systems for supporting train services such as substations and control systems.
Assistant TL & AC (1041 vacancies) Maintenance of electric traction systems and air conditioning to keep them running.
Assistant TL & AC – Workshop (624 Vacancies) Responsible for maintenance and repairing of traction systems and air-conditioning units
Assistant Workshop Mech (3077 Vacancies) Maintain and repair of mechanical components of trains to keep them within safe and efficient operating standards.
