National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the UGC NET December Notification 2025 PDF on 7th October 2025 for the UGC NET December 2025 examination. The notification PDF includes information such as registration dates, eligibility, exam pattern, and other details regarding the exam.

Candidates aiming to apply for the UGC NET December Exam can register themselves from 7th October 2205 onwards through the official website of https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/ or  https://www.nta.ac.in/. Application will be accepted in online mode only; applications through any mode will not be accepted under any circumstances.

About UGC NET Exam 2025

University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test is also known as UGC NET, is a national-level examination conducted to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ as well as ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in Indian Universities and Colleges. The UGC-NET is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) twice a year, in June and December sessions.

UGC NET 2025-  Important Dates

Along with the release of the UGC NET 2025 Notification, the online registration schedule for the UGC NET December exam has been released at https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in/. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from 7th October to 7th November 2025. Check important dates from here.

UGC NET December 2025 Eligibility Creteria

Those candidates who want to apply for the UGC NET December 2025 exam must ensure that they fulfill the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2025. The candidate’s eligibility for UGC NET will be determined in terms of educational qualification, number of attempts, and so on.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have completed a Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks (50% for reserved categories)
  • The candidates who are pursuing Four Year/8 eight-semester Bachelor’s Degree program and are in their last semester/year may also apply for the UGC-NET.
  • The candidates with a Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree program are allowed to appear in a subject in which they want to pursue a Ph.D., irrespective of the discipline in which they have obtained the four-year bachelor’s degree

Age Limit

  • JRF – Maximum 30 years (relaxations applicable for reserved categories)
  • Assistant Professor – No upper age limit

UGC NET Application Form 2025

Along with the release of the UGC NET December Notification PDF, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has started accepting the UGC NET Application Form 2025 from 7th October 2025 onwards. Candidates interested in applying for the UGC NET December 2025 exam should carefully submit their application form on or before 7th November 2025. Providing incorrect information leads to the rejection of the registration form.

UGC NET Application Fee 2025

Candidates applying for the UGC NET Exam are required to pay the Application Fee as mentioned in the UGC NET December 2025 Notification PDF.

  • General – Rs. 1150/-
  • EWS/OBC – Non-creamy layer – Rs. 600/-
  • SC/ST/Third Gender Rs. 325/-
  • PwD – NIL

UGC NET Subject List with Code

While submitting their online applications, candidates should choose the UGC NET subject that corresponds to their area of specialization in their post-graduation degree course. If a candidate’s post-graduation subject is not listed in the subject list provided by UGC, he or she can choose a related subject.
