The UGC NET 2025 is also known as the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test, a national-level exam held twice a year to determine the eligibility of candidates for various Assistant Professor or both Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor posts in Indian universities and colleges. The online application portal for accepting the application forms for UGC NET 2025 has been started on 16th April 2025. Candidates who have completed their master’s or a 4-year full-time bachelor’s degree can fill out the application through the official NTA website, www.ugcnet.nta.ac.in. UGC NET Application Form 2025
The official notification PDF for the UGC NET 2025 has been released for the June session on 16th April 2025. To appear for the examination, candidates must first complete the registration process by filling out the UGC NET Application form 2025 through the official website of UGC NET. The UGC NET exam is scheduled for 21st June to 30th June 2025 (Tentatively). The important events for the National eligibility test are as follows

UGC NET Application Form 2025
The UGC NET Application Form 2025 process has started on the official website www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in on 16th April 2025. Candidates who are interested and meet the eligibility criteria must not delay and must complete the online application process on or before 7th May 2025. This is a great opportunity to become a professor in a well-reputed college or university. Make sure to read the eligibility criteria and other important instructions before submitting the form.
Steps to Apply for the UGC NET Exam
Candidates who are eligible and interested in applying for the UGC NET Exam must follow these steps to complete the application
Step 1 – Registration Form
- Visit the official website of UGC NET at www.ugcnet.nta.nic.in.
- On the homepage, click on the link that reads “UGC NET June 2025- Click Here to Register/ Login.
- For Already Registered Candidates- Enter your application number and password and then enter your basic details like name, parents’ name, date of birth, email id, mobile number etc.
- For New Registration- Click on “New Candidates Register Now” and enter personal details i.e. candidate’s name, date of birth, mobile number and email id.
- A unique application number and password will be generated and sent to candidates’ registered email ID and mobile number.
Step 2 – Application Form
- Candidates log in with the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password to complete the application form.
- Now fill in your Educational Details, the most recent qualification you hold, your percentage etc.
- After that, you are required to provide your communication address, phone number, and email ID.
- Now choose the Exam Centre and the medium of the exam in which you want to attempt the paper.
- Enter your Aadhar card number, choose your gender, and category and finally select the status of Employment and the status of the Qualifying Exam.
- Upload your photo and signature. Both images must be in jpg/jpeg format and must have a white background.
Step 3 – Pay Examination Fee
- You will be directed to the payment page.
- The payment can be made for the UGC NET 2025 Exam through online or offline mode.
- Click on the “SUBMIT” button. Download the confirmation page for future reference.
Eligibility Criteria for UGC NET 2025 June Exam
Qualifying Examination: Any UR/ UR-EWS candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.

The candidates qualifying in the NET, based on a four-year undergraduate degree, will be eligible to apply online for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and for admission to the Ph.D but not for Assistant Professor. They have to secure a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate in a four-year undergraduate degree.
Note: A relaxation of 5% marks has been given for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
Age Limit: Not more than 30 years for JRF posts as on 01st day of the month in which the examination is concluded and there is no age limit for Assistant Professor and Admission to PHD.

- The scanned images of the latest photographs and signature should be in jpg/jpeg format.
